Rock band X Japan just finished their first North American tour this past weekend. Leader Yoshiki was interviewed in New York on Monday, and he revealed some information about the band's upcoming album and their plans for a world tour next year.

Yoshiki stated that the band is about 90% done with an album that they plan to release next spring. This will be X Japan's first original studio album since "DAHLIA" in 1996. Recorded tracks include "Jade" and "Born To Be Free."

Coinciding with the release of the album, X Japan will also launch a Europe tour in the spring. France and Germany have already been decided, and the band is looking into adding other countries, including England. In addition, X Japan hopes to perform another North American tour and concerts in Japan by May. After that, they aim to play in Asian countries such as Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand. Yoshiki also revealed that they have received offers to play in South America, specifically in Chile, Peru, and Brazil.

Yoshiki also touched on the subject of his thyroid problems, which have worsened due to fatigue. During the North American tour, he collapsed in his hotel room in Chicago. But in the interview, he insisted that he is fine, saying that he undergoes a medical examination every three months and receives counsel from his doctor.

X finished up an American tour this weekend, of course, they never went anywhere near the south. I'd love to see them, or Utada should she come out of retirement. I wish I could have seen her during her NA tour, but of course, the south sucks.
