Probably old news, but Adult Swim's upcoming schedule shows the block starting at 9 pm beginning on the 27th of this month.  It means King of the Hill starting an hour earlier, for the most part.  KOTH airing before late night isn't new, but Venture Bros at 9 on Sundays will be a bit odd.  Earlier bed times for a lot of kids, maybe?

Most kids go to bed at nine anyway don't they?

Some do I suppose, I know of a couple that get to bed around 10.  Seems like it was ages ago when the kids shows went until 11.

They'll probably keep King of the Hill on at 10pm as a buffer, like how they have Home Movies on at 4:30 as a buffer between Adult Swim and the begining of morning programming.

Actually shows an hour of American Dad at 10 on weeknights, then an hour of Family Guy.  Squidbillies at 10 on Sundays.  By putting in "DVR Theater" in place of 4 am, are they just assuming no one's awake to watch the Aqua Teens?

The only people who are really up at 4am are people either going an early shift or coming home from the late night shift...and stoners, they seem to be the target audience.

I used to regularly stay up until around dawn, that had to change.  An MMO was involved instead of drugs, but that's almost as bad if you lose yourself in it.

I stay up until dawn sometimes, my sleeping pattern screws itself up.

The commercials have started, an hour of King of the Hill at 9, an hour of American Dad at 10. Nice buffer into the more adult stuff, though I doubt they care about that, since they've been running The Venture Brothers at 10.

I keep wondering if AS will eventually just devour Cartoon Network, or become totally separate.  To me, the quality of the programming outside of AS on the channel has been steadily declining, but it might simply be me getting older.

Did you know that AS starts at 4 in the afternoon in Hawaii?  I assume that's because they get a signal from the mainland, instead of a separate one made for their time zone.

Strange they wouldn't have a separate signal for Hawaii.
Aren't Adult Swim and Cartoon Network separate channels in the UK? I think the next expansion will be to it's own channel. Cartoon Network itself was originally part of TNT.

Maybe there aren't enough people in Hawaii's time zone to justify a separate signal.  The schedule still doesn't make much sense, running most of the kid's shows while kids are sleeping or going to school.  But I doubt that AS viewers complain about their shows being on through the evening.

I can picture a whole channel dedicated to AS programming.  Assuming it wasn't a premium channel, what would they run during the day, though?

Hawaii only has about 1.3million people. They aren't that big of a market compared to the other time zones.

I'd assume some of the more tame programming along with anime.

King of the Hill and mild anime all day.  If they could find enough shows without blood.  Maybe the daytime programming would get extra cuts and censoring.  Almost sounds like it would be a new Toonami.

I doubt that, they usually only edit for time and stuff that doesn't pass the American censors.
